Zaragoza.- The Museum of Fire and Firefighters opens today the exhibition “The Force of Nature”, an exhibition that contains 26 large-format paintings by José Manuel Cardiel and which can be seen until June 30.

The strength and expressiveness of his painting forcefully shows us the power of the elements of nature. Unleashed nature that fits perfectly in this museum dedicated to fire and firefighters, whose effects are the daily work of these professionals.

Since ancient times, different cultures have used these elements - water, earth, fire and air - to explain the patterns of nature. In José Manuel's paintings, the fifth element -ether- is also present, because his paintings have spirit.

The artist was born in Logroño, but is closely linked to Aragón, where he develops both his professional and artistic side. As a self-taught painter, he began his career in 1990, currently having more than 350 painted paintings and a good number of exhibitions.

We can frame his work within abstract expressionism, in the Pollock movement, sharing the technique of throwing, splashing and dripping paint on the canvas, as well as the way of painting on a hard surface, ignoring the easel.
